Application Process

Apprenticeship application process:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Complete an application ($35 application fee). 

Applications must be completed and returned in person with documentation listed below to: 3210 E. Ferry Ave., Spokane WA

  • Submit a copy of birth certificate
  • Be at least a high school graduate, or have a GED with a minimum of 2500 points, or in lieu of a high school diploma or GED, have a two year Associate degree or higher.
  • Provide an official transcript for high school years completed and post high school education and training. All GED records if applicable.
  • Show evidence of successful completion of one full year of high school algebra or an equivalent post high school algebra course, with a passing grade of a “C” or better. NJATC math course at www.njatc.utk.edu
  • Submit proof of residency of the geographical area within the following counties for one year, prior to application (WA – Adams, Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Orielle, Spokane, Stevens and Whitman. ID – Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Clearwater, Idaho, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Nez Perce and Shoshone). Residency address and date appears on drivers license, utility bill, etc.
  • Submit a copy, possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Once all information is received, qualifying applicants will be notified and scheduled to take the electrical trade’s aptitude test (math and reading comprehension). You can find a sample test at: www.njatc.org/training/apprenticeship/sample/sample_test.html
  • Applicants qualify for interview by obtaining a qualifying score on the electrical trade’s aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research.
  • Receive an eligibility score upon completion of your interview and placed in an active pool of eligible applicants for a period of 2 years. Applicants will be offered employment based on the order of their rank in the pool of eligibles and as the economy allows.
  • Applicants selected from the pool must be capable of performing the work of the electrical construction trade.
  • Applicants being accepted into the program will be required to take and pass a pre-employment urinalysis drug screening test before being registered.
